Among the Believers (2015)
Directors: Hemal Trivedi, Mohammed Ali Naqvi | Countries: USA / Pakistan | Runtime: 84 min
Synopsis
In Islamabad, Pakistan, the Red Mosque is the most radical Islamic institution in a nuclear-armed country. Among the Believers follows three young people caught in the struggle between its leader’s vision and Pakistan’s secular educational system. Over three years of filming, directors Trivedi and Naqvi gained extraordinary access to both sides — interviewing the mosque leader himself, his followers, and the secular reformers risking their lives to offer children an alternative future.
