'CINEPHIL - Philippa Kowarsky Productions Ltd.' handles the sales of distribution rights for International, Israeli and Palestinian films all over the world. It is based in Tel Aviv and since its establishment in January 1997, CINEPHIL has become the sales agent and home for leading producers and filmmakers from around the world.

 

CINEPHIL started to receive its world wide recognition working with highly acclaimed filmmakers, such as Dan Setton, Amos Gitai, Hany Abu Assad, Yoav Shamir and others and after successfully managing sales for productions such as No.17 (David Ofek), Watermarks (Yaron Zilberman), 9 Star Hotel (Ido Haar), Souvenirs (Shahar Cohen & Halil Efrat), Miss Gulag (Maria Yatskova), Defamation (Yoav Shamir) and many more...

 

CINEPHIL is also a contact for international co-productions, introducing partners of all kinds and following through projects till their completion.

Watermarks, by Yaron Zilberman co produced with ARTE and ORF in association with HBO Cinemax. The film was released theatrically in the US, Canada, Austria, Israel and Australia.

Flipping Out by Yoav Shamir made with the NFB of Canada, ITVS, Sundance Channel, ZDF Arte, BBC, VPRO, SBS and DR TV.

 

Defamation by Yoav Shamir made with the SF Film Production (Denmark), Reveal Productions (USA) and Knut Ogris Films (Austria).

 

CINEPHIL exclusively represents documentaries by Amos Gitai.

 

Feature films: CINEPHIL represents films such as ‘What a Wonderful Place’ (The Israeli Academy Award winner 2005, directed by Eyal Halfon), ‘Year Zero’ (Joseph Pitchhadze) as well as many others.

 

In 2005, CINEPHIL Co Produced ‘Sweet Mud’ (Dror Shaul), with Sirocco (Israel), Heimat Film (Germany), NRW Fund (Germany), NHK (Japan), and Tu Va Voir (France). This film was awarded Best Israeli Film 2006 and won the International Jury Award at Sundance Film Festival 2007 as well as the Crystal Bear in Berlin.

'Someone to Run With', the film produced among others by Cinephil opened the Jerusalem Film Festival and won Best Actress Award at the Miami International Film Festival.


CINEPHIL participates in all major film and television markets including MIPDOC, MIPTV, MIPCOM and Sunny Side of the Doc, and in film festivals such as Cannes, Berlin, Sundance, IDFA and Toronto.
